This story starts off with a flash back, the day before Duo's death he spent time thinking over the events that lead to what he knew was coming.

He was in the mountains, far off to the west, standing at the top of one of the highest peaks. The wind blew past him as he stood, looking out, his eyes seemed fixed on some distant concern. He could feel the changes that were going on, could almost smell the ill turns in the wind.

Dynamo had gone over the deep end with his experiments in Evil Energy and had given himself a big enough dose to drive most others insane, Duo was going over how to deal with it when he'd found the solution was already forming itself.

Queenbee had made a deal fateful deal with Vent, in order to stop her hostilities Vent agreed to tare down Dynacorp. It was ambitious, even for Vent, even if Dynamo had just been as he always had been, but now with him all hopped up on Evil Energy...actually the interesting thing was with him all on the Evil Energy it made more sense than ever for him to attack the tower now. Dynamo would feel prideful after his new boost of power and fight Vent all on his own, sparing Vent the trouble of a small army of Sniper Joes. It seemed perfect, until Duo saw Vent of course.

The Maverick Virus had taken it's toll on him and he was very close to snapping. Duo had to knock him out right there and then gave him a heavy dose of his own energy, in the hopes of giving Vent the edge to resist the Virus' pull on him.

In light of how things turned out, it seemed a futile gesture now. Vent had preformed wonderfully, he held his own against Dynamo's new found power. Duo was able to sense the changes in the energy of the two of them from afar. The two fought up and down the tower, taring it apart as they went.

He was worried as Dynamo seemed to be gaining the upper hand, but he just wasn't happy with winning, he needed to see what Vent could really do. He happened to know exactly what buttons to push to get Vent going. A simple threat of Vent's family set him off just as Dynamo wanted.

It's hard to say if Dynamo wanted what happened next or not. Vent did indeed go nuts and beat Dynamo senseless. Vent was ready for the final blow when Dynamo suddenly asked for mercy, saying that if Vent killed him now, he'd go over the edge, and never be able to come back. Duo might have agreed, but that was hardly the point. Dynamo's words were not enough but when Gyro back them him Vent stayed his hand, long enough for Dynamo to get back to his feet, get Vent to drop his guard and then throw him into the same vat of Evil Energy that Dynamo himself had gone into, followed by a huge grinding blade machine.

Everyone, Duo included, was sure Vent had been killed. Dynamo let out a loud echoing laugh and was quite pleased with himself, about this time Lumine and Xander showed up, they seemed ready to confront Dynamo when suddenly a hand came out from the cauldron of Evil Energy, then another, and then Vent rose out, his body on fire with Evil Energy, far more than Dynamo had taken into himself.

Dynamo tried to escape, quite sure Vent would kill them all, but Xander tried to prevent his escape, leaving them both to be hit by Vent's attack. Lumine jumped into the fight then. The battle caused damage to the machines designed to contain the Evil Energy and Dynamo had no choice but to use the transervers at Dynacorp to Teleport everyone out, afterwards Lumine fought with Vent while Dynamo and Xander fought, both battles ended as their RPers simply were too tired to stay up anymore and everyone sort of "escaped."

The Flashback fades.

The Next day Vent's spree continued, Flashman lost his life to Vent, and Raika very nearly did. Vent was ready to take down even more people before Duo sensed his time to step in had come. He slammed into Vent without warning. He apologized for leading Vent into Dynamo's trap, not so much because his words would matter to Vent, but because they mattered to him. They fought for awhile, Vent's power was overwhelming at times, he tore away the armor that Dr. Light had given him, revealing Duo's long hidden original form under it.

At this point Duo let loose on him, pulling a "world of cardboard" and really giving it his all, he ended slammed Vent down hard, and felt sure he'd put him down this time, but Vent came at him again, harder than ever before.

Duo knew there was really only one thing he could do now. He'd hoped to avoid death in this fight, but there was no way around it. At this time Lumine appeared to help, but Duo had already made his choice, he grabbed hold of Vent and rocketed up into the sky. He told Vent one last time he was sorry for what he had to do, and then there was a bright flash and an ear shattering boom. When the light faded Duo was gone.

Vent dropped from the sky, out could and glowing faintly. Gyro swooped in and caught him, handing him to Mia, who used her powers to heal his wounds.

Vent Woke slowly to an image of Duo standing before him. "Sorry for putting the weight of all this on your shoulders" he said "Don't feel obligated to follow my work, just follow your heart and you'll be doing far better than I ever could" with that Duo's image faded, but his spirit will live on in the power he gave to Vent. He poured every bit of himself into Vent to save him from the Evil Energy that had consumed him, now Vent contained the full might of Duo and his Justice, along with Vent's already considerably powerful skills. Evil doers....just try to keep a low profile...seriously

Dynamo in the mean time is at Dynacorp...rebuilding....cause the place was COMPLETELY wrecked.

So say your goodbyes to Duo, he's dead, but not gone, look for his image in Vent's power.
